If the GS F comes with the IS F motor with 416hp I will fly to Japan and punch some high level Lexus executive just like Stewie....

Come to think of it...

BMW 550i: 400hp - 15 city / 23 highway / 18 combined
Mercedes E550: 382hp - 15/23/18
ISF: 416hp - 16/23/18

...so...that excuse about the 5.0L V8 being too outdated/inefficient to drop into the GS as a GS 500...?

From studying the 2013 engine bay with the V6 350 dropped in there.. It was desgined to work easily with a V8..

There is tons of room in the front section and the sides had some too..

In my honest opinion, that is not a coincidence.

i am sure the car is more than capable to put in v8. if they are remotely thinking about a real meaningful gsf, that has to be the case (question is what goes in there)

but yeah, a gs500 with isf engine isn't bad at all imho. yes, that makes the isf not as exclusive some might say, but they should be reminded that it's pretty much the same thing in the ls600hl to begin with.

gs500, 415hp, 8 speed, with the kind of gas mileage. my goodness, that's so good (and reasonable right?)

The F engines should remain exclusive to the F line or the F branding simply loses its meaning. You definitely don't see any AMG/M/RS motors being shared with their regular models either. A GS500 with the LS600hL's 394hp V8 would be perfectly fine without stealing the exclusivity away from the F line IMO.

i dont think anyone needs some strict rules like that, who cares about rules?

when it comes to GS500, it probably doesnt make financial sense for them.

It's not about rules, but about building exclusivity for their F branding. By putting the IS-F motor in the GS500 it cheapens the "F" in the IS-F. Just my opinion of course.

meh, the isf engine is a tuned 5L from the ls600hl to begin with, to me that doesn't sound anything that exclusive at all already. of course, if they use just the 394hp version, that's fine with me too, i will be just as happy. in fact, probably better since it will likely be smoother and fits a luxury sedan better

Well the AMG/M/RS engines are mostly tuned versions of their regular engines too, but still you won't see identical engines being shared between the AMG/M/RS and their regular models. And yeah I agree the characteristics of the IS-F's engine are probably too sporty (in noise and power delivery) for a luxury sedan.

It wouldn't be the exact same engine...I don't think you could get away with that secondary intake roaring open at 3200 rpms (or whatever the number is) in a luxury sedan

That engine would be a good starting point and shouldn't require much revision in theory, but this whole conversation is probably moot anyway.
