Going by their past performance in the v8 area since 2001, it's just a big FAIL by Lexus. I don't say this too often because I love my L but they've earned it a ton of times over and I'm done giving them the benefit of the doubt. They rode 1998 kudos until the wheels fell off.
At least now I know I can start searching in earnest for my next v8.
well the 4.6L engine is actually pretty good imho. came out in 07 380hp, in line with mb 550 setup and it's quite powerful / smooth. it's just that when they stuff that thing into the gs460, somehow they made the silly decision to downgrade it to 342hp

Agreed but I'm not a fan of the 3GS styling overall so the engine was a minor factor in my dislike, but a one time 42 hp bump in 13 years just irks me. lol. What was the point of achieving the fastest production sedan if it was going to be a one shot deal?
