So this is where the front design came from
not sure if this has been posted
i did a few searches and didnt see anything or too broad of results
here it is anyways
was driving to work the other day and was behind a RX450H
looked at the gate in detail and the area around the license plate frame jumped out at me
could this be where they found the inspiration from?
so when Toyoda said the 4GS design is where all future lexus will get their family look from, does he actually mean the RX's butt?

the funny thing is that most cars already have the spindle design in one way or another.
Look at the way the grill and bumper is shaped on most cars like this C class and you can see that spindle is very common

yes definitely common but the rear of RX is the closest resemblance ive seen AND its from one of the most recently designed lexus

The spindle shape goes way back:
More recently on the HS:
Internal designs don't change on a whim, so Lexus may have decided on the spindle shaped grill quite a while ago, before the new RX was designed.

And I always thought the inspiration came from 1986 movie the Predator, his jaw as a true spindle LOL!!
