If this guy is telling the truth, that there is no GS F in development, it will take at least another 2-3 years for it to hit the market. By that time the 4GS will be halfway through its lifecycle and NOBODY will care about it.

You have a very good point! If they don't show us something by next summer, they'll lose this momentum and like you said will be 2-3 years before we see anything and by that time, most of us will probably move on with Other brands. (tired of waiting only to be disappointed by Lexus) Better to bet on Audi, BMW, MB to come thru with Hi-power HP cars.

actually as things stand right now, there really isn't '2 part choices', because what comes with the factory F-Sport package are mainly cosmetics, and the US F-Sport accessories actually complement the factory package quite nicely. The factory F-Sport package IS, for example, uses the suspension from the sport package that was available on older MY IS. Other than that, the package comes with sports seats and other mostly cosmetics stuff that make the car look sportier, like different grille, front lip spoiler, black headliner, different steering wheel, etc whereas the US F-Sport accessories provide performance upgrades like intake/exhaust/sways/shocks etc.

This is the same with the factory F-Sport package CT vs. the US F-Sport accessories.

So at least for the IS and CT, what comes with factory F-Sport package and the US F-Sport accessories don't really overlap at all but instead complement each other.

well the current isf was a garage project but indeed it came out about 2 yrs after the 2is was debut?

i really don't know what to think either, definitely not very encouraging. more so on the gsf part. either they lied about not doing anything on v8 or gsf but actually secretly working on it (which makes it awkward why not just say it), or they really don't have anything which then...

with the momentum of isf and lfa... why not???

Well Yes & No......

The suspension is not the same from the older 06-09' IS Sport Package....

It was indeed announced last year that they received revised suspensions with the help of some of the in-house LFA Engineers.
That's for both the IS & CT Factory F-Sport offerings.

So in reality there is only a slight overlap in the suspension dept. (Springs, Shocks & Sways)

Other than that, the USA F-Sport Accessory Parts program is indeed here to accessorize any Lexus that the parts are offered for...

We will have yet to see what may or may not come down the line for the New GS Platform. (Accessory wise )

Maybe they will go the IS-F route and in 2 years after the 4GS launches, they will have the GS-F perhaps? I don't think they will go crazy about the F right away because they have the F-Sport. Well that's just my guess but I'm sure it will come, either early or late as long as it comes out.

Outside of the M5.. Here in America these special models are all relatively new. The E55 came in 1998/1999 for the first time. The RS6 came here for the first time in what 2004 or so? The XFR is new since what 2008? The M5 is the only one with decades of history..

The GS has been around consecutively since 1993. So it's simply time for a GS F.

Now a regular V-8 would still be great but sadly bean counters have strong arguments. The M56 can't be given away. In the U.K more Ferrai 599s were sold than v-8 BMW 550s. Etc etc

That front end is too boy racer. It looks like a japanese battle mech. I like the stock bumper better IMO.

TWO MORE FIRSTS
Lexus Dynamic Handling
The GS 450h F Sport is equipped with the Lexus Dynamic Handling system, making it the world’s first hybrid vehicle to feature an integrated four-wheel steering system.

The leading-edge platform technology enables integration of the Dynamic Rear Steering, Variable Gear Ratio Steering and Electric Power Steering to co-ordinate every aspect of front and rear wheel control, giving agile, sharp and confident driving behaviour with more direct response to the driver’s actions.

The handling system monitors vehicle speed, steering direction and driver inputs, and calculates the optimum angle for all four wheels. Using Variable Gear Ratio Steering at the front, and Dynamic Rear Steering at the rear, the system can independently control front and rear wheel steering angles to greatly improve turn-in response, rear grip, stability and overall agility when cornering.

Dynamic Rear Steering monitors vehicle speed and yaw rate, steering angle and speed, and lateral G force to determine the required rear wheel steering input, up to a maximum two degrees. At most speeds below 50mph (80km/h) the front and rear wheels turn in opposite directions; in certain conditions above that speed, they turn in the same direction.

All GS F Sport models are fitted with larger, 356 x 30mm ventilated front disc brakes. In a world-first design, the hat section of the braking system’s two-piece rotor is made of aluminium, which reduces weight and suppresses heat deformation.

@ rominl & Joe Z

Just because the car has wrap on it DOESNT NECESSARILY its a mule. The car I posted looks like fully funational model and theres nothing missing from it and plus I doubt they would scrap a car jusr because of fog lights.

The grey GS we see is most likey the only one or one of the 2 models Lexus has and being the grey F-Sport GS is the only one we see all the time. Must likey the white one will come about soon.

Perhaps a production first (though I'd be surprised that some of the exotics don't have that covered as well) but the third-party brakes, such as the AP brakes on my GS400, have aluminum hats too.

the first "first", to be very honest, is kind of picking it too. the system / idea itself is nothing new, but definitely first on the hybrid
