Default Value? Deprication? When 4gs Comes out

Hey guys, what do you think will happen to the look, styling, cost, demand and value when the new 4gs hits the streets? Do you think us gs350 3gs owners will be chopped liver? Will the cars style now be outdated? Lets hearr it

of course the 3gs will take a dump on price when the 4gs is out, unless the 4gs is really bad

I dont see the 3gs taking much of a hit due to the fact that Lexus did not upgrade the motor at all and just basically slapped on some hideous body panels and im sure msrp is gonna be even higher. Major FAIL!!!!!!

First few years the Germans (minus Audi) do better, but as time goes on they fall rapidly, in my neck of the woods at least.

Every brand, and every year there is a new release the price will increase slightly. When the ISF came out it was only 57G Msrp now its almost 62g

The Yen vs USD is awful right now for Toyota/Lexus. They just lost $1B USD on the conversion factor compared to what they budgeted. Someone has to pay for that, thus prices go up.

I am sure the price of used 3GS will go down since more people will return their 3GS release or trade them in for new 4GS. It is just the law of Supply vs Demands.

Hope that the price of Used LS460 will go down as well since many in the LS league may want to buy a new 4GS. It would be nice for folks who are debating between a used LS460 vs. New 4GS.

i'm not worried about depreciation - i'm keeping my 3GSh for at least 10 years. and when my daughter is old enough to drive, she'll probably end up getting my car.

I've noticed unless there is a a huge giant change in design where the previous car looks like a complete turd that values don't really drop huge when a new vehicle shows up. Considering how well the 3GS has aged I think values won't budge and if anything values will hold steady.

I'm seeing TONS of 3GSs around now as the price has dropped.

well 06 gs300 is priced really bad now (because of 350). there is also a bigger gap between 07 gs350 and 08 gs350 compared to other yrs because of the facelift.

lexus is back into full production so supply is going up, their used prices was holding very very well for the first 8 months of this year, but since then it's been dropping quite a bit. with the 4gs, unless the car is really that bad (which i doubt), wealthier ones will move on to the 4gs and the 3gs overall will take another hit. that's pretty normal.

an example the last time this didn't really happen? from what i remember when mb went from w140 (a solid tank) to w220 (very horrible in early years). owners literally trade their new w220 back in for older w140. that held the w140 prices up for a while (and jacked down the w220 price)

even with strong used car market its not easy to sell 30-35k cars,,,it seems like people buy 20k or 60k cars these days,,,,no more middle class,,,i will say it will drop at least 3-5k when new one comes out in Feb,,,it was only reason i sold my car recently because of price drop,,,
