Default 2013 F-sport+... some very interesting details

Since I am into the performance/handling aspect of the new GS.. (why I drove many BMW's over the years... they weren't the fastest stoplight to stoplight.. but I loved the way they drove and handled the corners)

Just some quick notes.
Hennessy Gwinnett had a 2013 GS350 F-Sport+ come through yesterday and with just a quick look I noticed it had 2 piece front rotors with an aluminum hub and 6 piston Alcon front calipers... which is about a $6k upgrade for my IS350. I had heard they were using a lot more Aluminum to lighten the suspension... I'd love to get to spend some time under this just to see what all they have changed... Supposedly it turned the same track time as the 2011 ISF... which has 100+ more HP and is lighter....

I have read that, and admittedly I do not get a chance to keep up with CL and the other forums, but I hadn't seen a mention on the vastly upgraded brakes elsewhere... Certainly has to help with the track times

From my understanding Lexus stated in the press release the brake system is some kind of "first" but I think it was Mr. Johnson who was wondering was it first ever (which would be really odd) or first in class (which sounds more accurate).

I can see it being "first in class" but it is always hard to prove "first ever" on just about anything. 2 piece rotors and 6 pot calipers as factory stock is very impressive esp. as we are not talking about megabuck exotics here.

Now that I have looked closer at a "F-sport" verses a "F-Sport + and the non-+ F-Sport looks to have 4 piston Alcons... so does the F-sport + have the 6 piston units or not? Even the 4 pot Alcons are larger than the ones on the 3GS so maybe it just looked like 6 pot's? Does anyone know for sure?

The new GS f sport has a 14" 2 piece rotor. It is a steel vented rotor with an aluminum hat. The caliper is a 4 pistion caliper but does have a larger sweep than the regular gs mainly do to the larger rotor. The base model gs has a 13.1" rotor.

Are these "high-friction" brake pads, high dust?

Nice pic. Frank Mullin is my sales guy there, tell him Mike sent you! Fantastic dealership!

There is no doubt Lexus put serious effort into the suspension of this vehicle in base and in F-sport trim and probably with the Audi (from my understanding) best drivers in class. Toyota/Lexus seems really passionate about improving the overall driving feel of their cars.

Has anyone seen the list of features that are actually included in the F-Sport package? What I mean by this, is it essentially all the add-on parts that you could have upgraded the 3GS too (ie, Brakes, shocks, sway bars, springs, exhaust, intake, etc)? Or is it just larger brakes, sportier exterior, 19" wheels and a tuned suspension? Thanks!

This F-sport +......must be a dealer thing because Lexus Japan does not have a "+" designation........unless it uses TRD parts.

Confirmed, F-sport has a large caliper, but still 4 pistons. The F-sport Plus package is an option package that adds Mark L sound system, HUD and the Rear steering system. The rear steer system adds to the performance, and so far seems to only be in this package for the F-Sport....

I do not know if we will be able to order it separately or not yet.

With the apropriate wheel design exposing the calipers, some F-sport decals on the calipers would look nice...
