I originally had 245/40/20 fronts, they rub the inner plastic liners and now I have about 3 holes in them hahaha. Switched to 255/35/20 and everything solved. Anyway 245/40/20 is over tire for the GS.

Okay, so I don't want 45s then! I'm just thinking that the front tires on my car have about the right amount of sidewall- but if they were wider then they'd be taller too with metric, so 35s might be just right. If it was just a bit tighter on the steering and handling that would be okay, but I don't want it to be much firmer. The 19s are just about right- I'd like it to be just touch tighter.

If you want more meat on the sidewalls, stick to 19 instead and use 245/40/19 or even 255/40/19 on the front - that should be plenty of meat. Pair with 275/35/19 or 285/35/19 for rears. 245/40/20 are more suitable for LS.

any idea if 245/35/20 & 285/30/20 would rub or give issues? 235/35 & 275/30 would be pushing it in terms of comfort.

Depending on your offsets/type of spring used. I am running Swift springs and 255/35/20 in front - they don't rub.

Anybody know if I will have issues with 19x9 +28 for the front? Already got wheels 19x9 +38 but will not clear the brakes. Recommended 10mm spacer to clear and from what I read will make my offset -10.

already got 245/40/19 lowered on coils.. really hope I don’t have any issues when I get the spacers and wheels on:

So you're saying a +38 offset won't clear the calipers? I'm looking to go 9x20 +40, is it maybe due to the spoke design not clearing?

yes the disc type is not clearing. +38 should have no issues just make sure they clear bbk!

Are these some variety of JDM 2 or 3 piece wheel?

A specific offset is never guaranteed to clear calipers. Wheels come with wildly varied spoke designs and hub pads thicknesses.

Nice. What disk were they built with? I really want a set of Leon Hardiritt Friedens, but even with the most possible caliper clearance (Lo-Disk vs. Super Lo) I have no idea if they'll clear my front calipers and I don't want to run spacers.

vishnu’s

245/40 front and 275/35 rears.

a part of me is regretting not going 20’s but the other part still enjoys the comfortable ride. Perhaps will project the wheels into step lip 20’s in the future.
