interesting. since its separated for the rear suspension. it should be easier switching it out with lowering spring without having to ripping out the back seat. Right?

Nice pic Ryan!! Thanks

Truck is so much improved its not even funny. Its much larger and much better shaped as people have noted. Shame Lexus still won't let the seat drop down though

That's second on my GS3's list of features biggest disappointments (lack of trunk space is first).

Good to know the GS4 improved the trunk space substancially this time around.

Chief Engineer Kanamori told me they didn't allow a folding rear seat mainly because of chassis rigidity and noise.

it depends on car design. on the 2gs and 3gs, i don't think you need to remove back seat to install springs

Yup that is correct on 2nd and 3rd gen GS, all you need to do is pull back on the trunk liners to access the shock bolts.

Will be interesting to see how its done on 4th Gen although it probably is the same for the shock, the spring probably requires unbolting the lower control arm for access. Looks like coilovers are going to be a trick for this new design.

The Lexus marketing folks showed us a picture of 4 golf bags and two gym bags in the trunk. Couldn't tell what kind of bags from the picture though

Two grown men can fit in there. Pic was taken at a local SoCal dealership just to show how big the trunk is.

probably not a very big deal, similar design strategy is used in a lot of other cars including the m3. in terms of coilover prices and install cost, they are just about the same (as in not particularly more expensive due to design)

I dont understand why the 4GS trunk is just like my 1IS trunk where (assuming you dont have power trunk lid) the trunk lid when released from inside the car or the fob will not spring open. It just unlatches and you have to use your hands to push it open. I love my Merc C class where the trunk pops open. its really handy when you have your hands full
