Default Not one rattle?

Maybe there are too few owners yet to tell, but it sure is a good sign that no one has complained about rattles on the 4GS, or any other design or assembly problems for that matter. How about it you guys? No rattles, groans or other annoying noises?

There seems to be an issue with the HVAC...https://www.clublexus.com/forums/7028372-post2.html

Give it some time. The car has only been on sale for a little over 2 weeks.

CTh has been marked improvement for Lexus, so I expect GS to be even better, when it comes to small annoyances.

My GS has a small rattle in the right front dash when I go over a bump that is more jarring than simply a metal plate or something in the road (seams). Potholes will cause vibration and then I can hear it if the radio is not on. Not a big deal to me but I may have it looked at when I go for my 1000 mile service. It also may be that the dash is cold. I'm in the northeast and in the morning the car is cold. In the past I have found that warm dashes rattle less for obvious reasons. My LS also had some rattles in the doors and ceiling on jarring bumps but because the GS is not as cushy a ride I'm certain the vibrations will cause more stress on the areas where rattles are prone to occur. With the radio on, however, can't hear a thing. It is not at all bothersome. Let's see how it does as it loosens up. Only 140 miles thus far.

your first service is 1000 miles? mine is 5000 miles. they actually don't change the oil until 10,000 miles.

Not that I'm not confident but it is foolish to conclude a car that has been on sale for a little over 2 weeks as no problems.

Rattles are quite common. Just think about it. A car is made up of millions of parts. Eventually, they will rub and hit each other and make noise.

Remember that story where Chief Engineer Kanamori and his team drove a prototype 4th Gen GS over 700k miles?

I'm pretty sure they knew about the problems that 3rd Gen GS had. The new GS is built on a ligher and stronger chassis, 14% stronger to be exact.

And you think they would publicly say that the GS has problems?

All cars develop problems overtime. Some even before, which is why they spend the countless hours and miles to do a shakedown of the car before release.

3GS rattles often seemed to be related to weather turning from warm to cold. Next autumn/winter will be the testing time. I never had any rattles with my 3GS, but it has been in warm to hot weather conditions all the time.

It would be interesting to know if there is any difference in panel gaps (3GS vs. 4GS). 3GS has pretty tight fitting, which could have contributed to rattles.
