Now down to 2000 per month steady.

But I also wonder how sibling ES doing?
24k is the goal so they are right no track at this rate.

ES sold 3,780 last month...with the new model coming they are going to balance blowing out the old model as the new one arrives in August. I think the sales goal is 50k for the new ES for 12 months.

In all my history though I've never brought up ES sales to GS sales. Just two different cars, different prices, markets, etc.

I guess we will see (again) first hand how the ES affects the GS if any. B/C if sales go down we are basing it on theory, we won't have hard data to show people buying an ES over the GS directly. Unless we get some new data

If it helps in any way (even if our market is extremely small), I expect that the ES will be #2 or #3 in the Lexus Manila sales charts..........since the RX will still be #1 Lexus for the local Philippine market.

Templin was quoted in an Automotive News article as saying the sales goal for the new ES is 5k per month. Lexus should have no problem exceeding that goal.

Dropped 400 units last month. To put things in a crazy perspective, you add the GS, M37/56 and RL and they don't equal half of the 5 or E class last month!

Feb-2396
March-2558
April-2006
May-1996
June-2020
July- 1662

5series- 5,700
Eclass- 5,089 (includes coupes)
A6- 1,691
GS- 1,662
MKS-878
M- 654
Town Car-77
RL-40
STS-7

umm, not looking very good, 20% drop. wonder how the golden opportunity will help lexus on this. i would hoping they stay above 1800 steadily.

adding rl is useless, 40 cars, it's nothing what's interesting is even if you add the remaining cars (a6, mks, towncar, sts), grand total is still less than either the 5 or the e!!!!!!!!

The problem is the lease rates (money factor) is too high and Lexus is not marking much off the car compared to the heavily discounted BMW 5 series which is killing the GS sales here. I am disappointed as the GS is a far better car since I was a previous owner of a 2011 BMW 5 and now a owner of a 2013 GS F-sport. Lexus is being lazy here and marketing the ES now and leaving the GS behind. I certainly hope it does keep going on like this! Maybe not enough inventory?

didn't i warn about marketing and the es before? that's why i think it's not a bad move lexus is just doing another facelift on the ls instead of another new car.

i highly doubt inventory is a problem overall. it's not like there are a lot of overstock, but most dealers i go to they have 4gs in the lot.

lexus is never into aggressive money factor and lease deals, they are more on full ownership. so on that one, it's a toss. it's hard to compare gs numbers to e and 5, too many factors, but staying consistent would be a huge deal already imho.

I guess its just no way the reason could be the car just isn't attractive enough.

At least it gets great comments on the looks from everyone I know then my bland 2006 GS which hasn't got more than a few lukewarm ones over the years. The 4GS looks great and just need the fog lamps on the F-Sport version. Enjoy your 3GS though.

How does the sales of the new GS compare to previous models? Some folks tend to stick to whatever model they previously owned when getting a new car. This is my first Lexus, although my wife has had 4 (all ES).

The 3gs sold over 35k units the first year, and thats with the small 3.0. The 4gs won't come close to that

you are welcome. yeah it's really hard to do a "fair" comparison to previous years, too many factors. i honestly think if lexus can manage to sell 20-24k cars a year (so avg around 2k cars a month) consistently, it's a great feat
