Default How powerful is the GS 350 F Sport compared to competitors?

With some talk about the GS being a little underpowered, just wondering if the GS 350 F Sport is more powerful than the below:

1.) 2012 BMW 335i sedan
2.) 2012 BMW 535i
3.) 2012 Mercedes E350 coupe/sedan
4.) 2012 Mercedes C350 coupe

Looking for the most powerful car in the class that I listed. Unfortunately I can't afford a 550i or E550 right now so I will have to settle for a V6. Just want to know what's the most powerful/fun to drive.

it is faster than all of those cars, and has better handling and stopping and fun to drive - according to all the mag reviews and tests.

you can chip BMW's and raise their hp though, but that opens up another can of worms (warranty)

If you're bench racing or bragging about posted times, yeah, it's faster.

If you're driving the thing, it's a slouch!!!!

Hell, I drove a 2012 Maxima today, cost 20 grand less has 16 fewer HP, is only 0.1 seconds slower to 60 and it has considerably more power delivery, throttle response, etc.

Fun to drive, yes.....has the ability to get out of its own 4K pound way coming out of the corners or launching from a stop light.....nope, sorry Charlie!

Its faster than the E Class but about on par with the 535i. But the 535i has the upper hand in low end torque due to being twin turbocharged so the GS feels sluggish during normal acceleration compared to the 5 Series.

Faster than the Mercedes, about the same as the 535, slower than the 335.

I have complained about the lack of more power, but let me tell you that as an owner of a 2010 GS350, it is not slow by any means. But I just sold a 505 hp Z06 so I'm looking to bridge the gap with a car that is faster than my current GS to make up for the fact that I don't have a fast Corvette anymore (well, sort of make up for it). Hence my *****ing that they don't offer more firepower.

Don't forget that there is a breaking-in period for the 2GR-FSE engine of the GS350 so those who have been complaining about sluggishness may not have experienced a fully broken in engine. You should wait for longterm owners to chime in with their experience.

I am coming from an S5 Cabriolet, which basically has the same engine as the A6 (which is faster than the GS350) and although the rush of power isn't as immediate at the low end, overall it is not unacceptable. Besides, I scare my friends when I take off in the S5 anyway, so the GS will be part of my 12-step program for driving more responsibly. There will be fewer finger nail marks in the armrests.

On paper the GS has less power than some of the competition but performance is on par with the best of them in regards to 6 cylinders with some of the best fuel economy. I will say 306 is nice and the performance is more than adequate but I am hoping for a power and MPG bump for the MMC.

1Sick, good to see that you have stayed loyal to Lexus all these years. We will push the "restart" button and have an amicable exchange this time around.
