Buying from CA, not being a resident, I presume no sales tax is done, but when you register it in Texas, you'll have to pay the Texas rate when you do?

Dealerships will usually paint a picture that anything that needs to be ordered will be charged a premium...stand your ground and you should be able to get your car at invoice.
