Longo Lexus gave me MSRP and so did Lexus of Stevens Creek.
Ended up at Lexus of Serramonte for invoice less $1000 GS Performance Drive Credit.

If you are willing to go to San Diego, Lexus of El Cajon offered me any GS for $500 under invoice, and Lexus of San Diego offered to match that deal. Both dealers made those offers by email.

You guys on the west coast are so lucky. California, the land of great deals on the GS and the home of Charles Manson. Who knew?

hey all

i am new to the forums but i must say it is awesome with lots of helpful info...

the midwest market is tight and dealers have been extremely stingy with prices. I did check with lexus of serremonte and they are giving a good deal...

anyone know of good reliable shipping companies?? figurin out costs of shipping from cali to chicago...

I bet the dealer from whom you are buying has a transporter with whom he works. I personally would not be comfortable buying a car sight unseen. I was planning to fly to San Diego and driving the new car home. When my local dealer came close to the SD dealer's price, I decided it was much easier, and maybe cheaper to buy here. An airline ticket is about $150, and 500 miles on a new car are worth about $500.

thanks for the helpful tip.. actually i have been trying to get dealers around here to meet the pricing (500 below invoice) but with resistence, even accounting for shipping costs.. the other issue is that barely any dealers in the midwest have a black on grey on their lots or have one coming in...

I paid $200 under invoice and avoided a trip to California. I bet shipping to the Midwest will cost over $1k. I just checked. Open transport is $910. Enclosed, which I would prefer is $1240 to $1500

You would be better off getting it on the east coast and drive back.

You need to look at dealers with large inventories. Prestige Lexus in northern NJ is one of the largest dealers in the NE. I have purchased three cars from Jane Toledano there.
