Am I getting fleeced on this lease?
First off, thanks to this forum group for all the good buying advice just through your discussions. I leased a 2008 A6 almost 5 years ago and I wish i knew then what i know know. Went to dealer today in NY/NJ tri state area (which I don't want to put on blast) looking for a AWD Premium package with blind spot. It clearly knew more about the car than the salesman did (he even admitted it) but there were some things that he told me which I still need some confirmation on:
1- None of their Premiums had blind spot. He said they don't offer that in the package, yet the Lexus.com configurater shows it does.
2- Current residual is 66%, but Lexus will decrease the residual every 3 months so this will come down soon
3- Initial money factor quote was .00195. I had to educate him on how to convert this to the APR (MF x 2400)! With that I asked him if the mf was flexible. Initially he said no, but then I overheard the sales manager tell him that they don't usually bend on that, but he could offer me .00180. Is that considered a good mf rate?
4- He wouldnt tell me exactly what invoice was. He said around $52,500. How do i find out for myself what invoice is?
Initial offer for 10K miles, 36 mos
MSRP - $55,483
$645 per month
Down payment - $3,764 (tax $2201,initial fees $917.5, first month $645)
Negotiated amount
$5400 sales manager offer
less $1500 conquest
New offer is $52,500 / $600 per month / $3718
KBB says my a6 trade in value is ~$24900. Their first offer was $22,500 which won't work for me since thats what I owe on the car! I'm supposed to go back on Friday and they will make me a better offer on the trade-in supposedly.
I want the Blind Spot, which they say would have to be part of a custom order. Don't know if I buy that story. i'm going to email my quote around and see what I get back. Don't want buyers remorse later if i pull the trigger and don't get blind spot
Apologies for the long write up, but I want to put all the details out there to get the feedback of the group and to educate others hopefully with that feedback.
Thanks for your time.

Of course it does! I had my share of dealerships that would only deal at MSRP...never even bothered to respond back to them!

The abnocious sales man told me that "only badly designed cars need the blind spot feature. The gs doesn't need it"!...?

Look at the postings from the East Coast. I don't think I have seen anyone who who got more than $1,000.00 off of MSRP which means the dealers are making over $2,000.00 on invoice.

The $242 "Preferred Accessory Package" (wheel locks, trunk mat, trunk net) had plenty of profit in it.
A quick look at Sewell Parts, the MSRP a la carte is ~$140...
...there's also plenty of profit in the $875 destination fee as Toyota owns the shipping company from Japan to the US...
