Power trunk open and close?

Yes your struts are weak. Mine are not like that at all.

My only complaint about the GS trunk coming from the Audi is that the trunk feels really tinny and cheap, but hey... I look that as one of the ways they kept the GS weight down so as not to go into "porker" territory like the 5 Series. You take the bad with the good. The most positive aspect of the trunk is that it will double what my Audi will hold.

look at the last image of the trunk, it clearly shows a button, but it seems as though that option is not available yet.

Power pulldown on my LS430 doesn't have a button - the mechanism is all internal. There is a button above the license plate indention to release the latch. I believe the LS460 has a full power closer (from open position) activated by a key fob button.
As for the pic, I see the latch, pull handle, and 4 rubber bumpers. Am I missing something else?

Of course it can, you can buy and retrofit anything. But I would imagine it is a pretty involved retrofit, thus would cost a lot of money. The power mechanism, switch, all the proper panels, labor............I would say is thousands of dollars.
