You folks must have some brutal commutes. I average 25-26 in my 2010 since new (I have 32,000 on it now). BTW, I don't believe in the theory that they get better with miles. I truly think people just drive them differently when they are new.

Driving style makes a big difference also. In exactly the same route around where we live, I get a solid 3 mpg better than my wife does when I drive her car (Acura TL).

to me the answer is yes. first 2-3k miles, it was always 18-19. after that it started going up to 24

Yep, first few thousand miles gas mileage is low but will nicely increase after than. I had that same issue on my 2006 GS300 awd. It was first low 20s and then got 29-31 mpg after break in.

1,400+ Miles

22.5 MPG on the last 2 tanks mix of 50/50 city/hwy & mostly Sport+. I am expecting it to improve as one tank was mostly hwy miles and I averaged almost 27 MPG...

I've never seen a vehicle increase mileage as it gets miles put on it. What I think happens to many is that when you buy a new car, you tend to want to drive it on short trips more frequently, and you drive it differently because it's new and you are exploring how it drives.

The notion that a car "breaks in" with miles is based upon the fact that years ago machining and metallurgy were nowhere near as advanced as they are today.

I have a little over 1700 miles on my F Sport and am averaging 22.3 mpg as of last fill up. I drive mostly in Eco unless I'm showing off for a passenger and spend roughly half my time city driving and the other half on the highway.

I've been as low as 16.9 during my first tank of gas and seen it as high as 23.1 on my way back from Miami driving in Eco.
