Enform issues

I checked with the Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett TS and he said to make sure your 4s is connected to 3g not wifi, for some reasons the Iphones (an some other OS's) do better not on wifi. If you have a moment to go see or call your Lexus TS I'm sure he can walk you through it. If your Lexus Dealer doesn't have a TS yet, Let me know and I'll get you the Hennessy Lexus TS number... He is not a sales guy.. he is a Lexus equivalent to the Fry's "geek squad" or Apple's "genius bar". That's his job description so he is very good at it.

I just called Lexus and personally voiced the concern as well, they said they will "take note and look into the matter" the guy also told me I wasn't the first to call about the issue, but had no clue if they were actively working on fixing/updating the app anytime soon. Here's the info if you want to call in, we may need power in numbers, it's a shame because the one year free subscription is wasting away...

Had some what of the same problem if you go to the settings of the enform app on your phone theres a button to "connect to vehicle" if its grayed out then its trying to connect to the vehicle, now try launching your apps from the car. Problem i would have is that would check for updates then tell me that i dont have the services on my phone etc. i would have to bring up the enform app and go to settings and then try to connect the car to the phone from the car apps launcher and it works for me ... hope this helps !

Just a quick update, after submitting an inquiry to Lexus Enform Customer Service on 4/9/12 I just got the following reply via email so hopefully we'll have an answer for the iPhone soon...
"We received your inquiry and are currently in the process of researching your concerns. Please allow us three to five business days to complete the review process. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you."

Right, it will connect and say its playing Pandora (even shows the song and album cover) but there is no sound coming from the speakers and the phone gets incredibly hot as the battery is rapidly drained. I've tried with both setting in Pandora too for higher quality audio on and off, same issue on either setting. It's hit or miss every 20 attempts or so and that shouldn't be the case. It should connect and work every time.
The App on the Iphone is really poor. I even told my dealer it kills my battery like no tomorrow and they had the never to tell me "Well Yeah! your streaming Bluetooth!" Umm hello when I link via bluetooth audio and stream Pandora I don't have that issue......
The issue will only get worse as i'm sure all MY13 Cars will have apps and they will need to fix it ASAP!

I have the same issue with pandora not playing music! My Dealer is Lame and told me its a Cell reception issues which is not... All I do is go to Iheart Radio and pick any old station and sound starts coming in and then I go back to Pandora and it works.

I've written in to them and called to voice my complaint. Its an issue for multiple people and even voiced on the reviews in the App Store. Hopefully this is fixed soon, but I wouldn't expect much support from the dealer. They're more focused on selling the car than dealing with tech issues. Although, a couple people mentioned that their dealer has a tech specialist on site to help with this sort of thing. If that's the case then I don't think you should get the responses you mentioned above and hopefully more help. If enough people voice the concern, they will look into it and fix it asap. They don't want these issues with a new vehicle that Lexus is putting a ton of $$$ behind in advertising with the groundbreaking technology as a main selling point.

What's New in Version 2.1.18.2
The following updates have been made to the Lexus Enform App Suite:
- General bug fixes and performance enhancements
- Ability to sort POI (point-of-interest) locations in eDestination
- Ability to share POI (point-of-interest) locations via Facebook, SMS or email from other apps
----------------------------------------
Finally! Lets hope the bug fixes improves the Pandora app stability and the overheating phone issue. I plan to check it out later today, will be back with my findings....

Lexus Enform works 30% of the time for me.
We just purchased our first Lexus (RX 350) and love it. The only problem we have with it is the Enform app for the iPhone.
Version: 2.1.182.39049
Issues:
1. Only works 30% of the time. Not reliable/robust.
2. Not connecting: Screen on Lexus says "app needs to be active of phone" when it is connected and active. Tried disconnect/reconnect, power on/off (car & phone) to no avail. Leave it 24 hours and it may/may not work.
3. No audio: Will connect and appear to be playing, but no sound.
4. iPhone gets hot and battery drains really fast.
5. Limited apps. Would love to see iTune radio added. It has a lot more radio stations from around the world.
Its more reliable to play over Bluetooth from the native app on the iPhone.

Agreed! Have latest HTC Android phone and it is always hit or miss. Most of the problems are with Pandora. But, iHeart radio also has issues...can't tell you how many times my favorite stations have been erased. Bluetooth is so much better. How can Lexus expect people to actually pay for this "service"?!

I am having the same hot phone, battery being depleated, not connecting issues being discussed. I called the 800 number and reported my problems so that at least my issue would be noted. Of course the nice young lady apologized and said that she had not heard of anyone else having my problem. I told her that lots of people are discussing the issues on this website. She suggested I ask you guys what to do. Good stuff...

Was having the same issue, and got it working...
I was having the same problem as the original post but with my 2014 IS FSport. Every time I would turn the car on, I would get the Update is Available/Required notice. When trying to update, it would fail after 2% and I would get the "Update Unsuccessful" note. I was going to give the dealership a call, but decided to try one last time. I tried all or most of the recommendations here and I finally got it to work.
I deleted the iphone app and reinstalled it, setup Pandora and linked all of my apps/accounts in the Lexus app, disconnected my phone from the cars bluetooth (on both ends, i.e. on both my phone and in the cars system, used the delete connection/delete or forget device options (whatever they're called)). I reconnected the bluetooth connection, made sure wifi was turned off on my phone, made sure I was in an area with a strong 3G connection, and then the update was able to complete. What a pain technology can be sometimes! Oh well, it works!
