another thing i am puzzled. seems like selecting the the left or the right mirror dont make any difference to the way it tilt? is this true or i am not observant?

there seems to be lots of other features that i am still not aware of. the button next to the rear sunshade up/down switch is actually the on/off switch for the front/back sensor!!! i just realized that today coz i have some how off it a week ago and scratching my head why my front and back sensors are not working!!! it helps as there is lots of narrow spiral multistory car park here.
No, selecting the left or right mirror does not affect the way the mirrors tilt. Selecting one solely activates the reverse tilt function. Once you position the mirrors to where you want them to be positioned while in reverse, you're good to go.

I had the same problem with my side mirrors not tilting of all a sudden. Found this site and read through all comments. It has been very helpful ☺️ It is now working perfectly when mirror adjustment is either on the left or right but not in neutral. Saved me going to a dealer - and learned a few new things too. So thank you everyone.

After making the tilt adjustment I want for the reverse position, I move the shifter back to park, press set 1, but the reverse side mirrors setting does not hold where I positioned them. They do tilt down when moving the shifter to reverse, but not to the position I set. What's wrong?

There should not be a need for you to press set 1, Do you have the left or right or both mirrors "on"? The mirror settings need to be on for the mirrors to tilt while you're in reverse.

The Owners Manual clearly tells you how to set the side mirrors to automatically tilt-down in reverse, but HERE are the instructions given previously.

Be sure to SAVE the setting into one of the seat position memories.

See Page 130 & Page 143 (in the below linked Owners Manual) for how to link the mirror function when reversing and how to enter (save) a position to a seat memory number.

I literally just did this yesterday after reading a post about it. I'm not sure who posted on this forum but here it is...

-put car in park
-adjust both side mirror to personal preference
-while pressing on the break pedal, put car in reverse making sure not to release pedal until you are done adjusting your side mirrors
-while mirrors are tilted down, proceed to adjust the mirror to your preference (do same thing to other mirror)
-put car in park
-save these settings into seat memory button

It's almost as difficult as learning how to adjust the headrest.

I think you keep it in reverse as you set the seat settings for it to memorize the reverse mirror position.

Maybe the piece that's missing is that you have to have one of the mirrors selected (as in the little green light on), either left or right to turn on the functionality. If you don't the mirrors will stay in their standard position when you put the car in reverse. At first I thought this was stupid - as in why would you not want the mirrors to tilt in reverse?, but after having the car 9+ months I've learned to appreciate the fact I can use it at times and leave it off other times.

Hope this helps.

NO: memory set will not work while on reverse. (Be sure I tried !)
