Stars are not aligned for me.....
People in CA have all the luck, they get their 2013 GS at or near invoice. They already had the Performance Tour (and credit) and up to March 31st, you could have bought a GS at invoice, less the performance credit and conquest credit. Here on the East coast, we get screwed. The performance event (if you are lucky enought to get it invited) is scheduled for the end of this month, several weeks afer the conquest became history. You have to pull teeth to get a dealer here to give you $1,000.00 of MSRP. Is Lexus playing favorites to the people from the State of Charles Manson? Are all buyers equal?
And FaiFai, please don't rub it in that you got your GS in CA at invoice. We have read your 30-40 posts regarding same!

If you buy a GS off a dealer's lot which has a lot of them, then it is easy to deal as the dealer needs to clear them as fast as they can. California usually has a lot of dealerships with huge lots and huge inventory. The dealers in the East coast usually have smaller, indoors (due to weather) dealerships with limited supplies. The law of supply and demand can explain the rest.
I got mine GS SF with ML with only $1K OFF MSRP because it is so rare in the West coast. Luckily, I pushed to get the car before April and the $1500 conquest rebate came in really handy.

OP I feel your pain man. The east coast just isn't budging on MSRP. I tried a crap load of dealers without any luck. I started dealing with a dealer in CA and they gave me a hard time about shipping the car over. One guy told me that they can't lease a car out of state. I tried again and it turns out, I can. I recently cut communications with them and I'm working a local dealer. I just got off the phone with the sales guy and he located the car for me. He's pulling it to their dealer instead of where it was set to go.
Sales manager promised me a good deal. We'll see how that goes. If I happen to get a good deal off MSRP, I'll give you the dealer info. Better to ship from Miami, FL then to ship from CA to NJ.

When I checked the dealers around my area (Nor Cal), most of them only offer $1 to $1.5K off. A lot of them said not much rooms to negotiate for such a hot new model. And finally only 1 took my $500 over invoice offer($3K off MSRP). The rest of them did not even bother to call and check on me again.

Well I just bought a GX460 for my wife two weeks ago. Same scenario, she wanted black on black with Nav and no one in the area had one. We worked out the numbers (nothing in writing), allocated the car and then when the car came in, all I had to do was the credit check & sign and I was out the door. It was simple because we had worked out the numbers before hand.
