Tilted Steering wheel, then comes weird Rev engine, GS4 F-package
Hello all,
I am new here.
I just got a GS4 F-package for a month now. About 2 weeks ago, all of a sudden the steering wheel tilted to about 85 degrees angle. I brought it to local Lexus and they kept it over the weekend. They told me that a Japanese technician flew over from Japan to look at this issue. I came back on Monday to pick it up and the dealer told me they have resolved the problem. Anyone ever had this problem?
Then 2 weeks later, when i drive on the freeway switching to Sport+ mode from Normal Mode, when i drive around 75mph-80mph then when i brake, the RPM just goes up and make the car felt like it down shift. This is not normal because I always drive sport+ mode plus and when i brake the engine downshift smoothly. So i brought it to the dealer. The technician drove with me and noticed it as well. He told me that in sport + mode, it is normal to see the RPM go up when you brake. But i told him that this is not true because it did not happen when i buy the car. It just happened in the past 3 days. I am coming to the dealer on Monday to pick up my GS. Hopefully nothing major.
My question is: Is it normal with your GS f-package as well? When you drive around 75mph and you apply on the brake, does the RPM goes up when you brake?
Thanks for reading!

Yes that is called downshifting and occurs on my BMW, Audi and Mercedes. Have you ever driven a manual before, when you slow down fast the car needs to go to lower gear. When you resume you upshift. its nothing. My 4gs does it

I haven't experienced the steering wheel tilt like you have described but my car does downshift when applying the brakes suddenly in S+ mode while cruising at high speeds which is normal.

I have the luxury model and always drive around in S+ mode. I noticed the RPM jump whenever I decelerated but attributed it to the engine down-shifting. But I am not a big fan of that. I will drive in Eco mode tomorrow and see if I notice it.

How fast were you going when your steering wheel tilted by itself to 85 degrees? And does the car go in the same direction as your steering wheel? What happens when you turn it straight?

we have all these people wanting to drive in Sport+ mode just for the red lights on the dash and cool graphics :-).
this is at least 2nd person here that complained about Sport+ mode for things that it should be applauded to... the fact is, they dont want to actually drive in Sport+ mode, they just want for it to look like Sport+ mode.
