Default Daytime Running Lights (DRL)????

Greetings members. I have been unable to figure out how to turn on the DRLs in my car or to figure the logic behind when they should be on or off. I am assuming that the DRLs are the set of LEDs under the headlamps and please correct me if I am wrong. I found in the setup screen, automobile configuration, lights section an option to turn the DRLs on or off. Neither of these settings, on or off, cause the DRL to come on when the engine is running. The DRLs do come on when I turn on the headlights. Please tell me what I am doing wrong or if this is an option that can only be set by the dealership in spite of the setup option to the contrary. Thank you.

I believe the DRLs only come on when the car is in gear, not in park. Pull up to a building with large glass windows and experiment.

Also, check the settings on the lever.
http://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/do.../sec_04-03.pdf - page 190. If it is set to DRL off (instead of AUTO), the DRL will not turn on.

Ideally, the DRL should turn on whenever the engine is started and the parking brake is released (assuming the settings are enabled, and the lever is set in the correct position)

If you turn off your "auto" parking brake feature.. You can see the DRL's ON with all lights off..

The DRL's do not light up if the car is started (Turned ON) and the Parking Brake is engaged....
