Trunk mounted taillight "Creeeaak"???
Opened my trunk yesterday...it was 66 degrees F and cloudy. Noticed as the trunk opened that I was hearing a very noticeable creaking sound. At first I didn't know where it was coming from, then I pushed on the trunk mounted taillights it was very obvious it was the plastic creaking against the trunk.
Has anyone else noticed this?

That was my fear! I opened it again today and all it does the whole time is creak! Sounds like a thousand mice are going to jump out of the trunk. Maybe the bolts aren't tight on the back of the lights?
This may require some dismantling...hate that!

I feel it's hard on a brand new car.
I would try to remove all the plastic clip and trunk liner then check inside the trunk. It's pretty easy to remove all the clip and check it yourself first. I did remove mine to install the spoiler and it's fun to do it.
But before I would check the hinge / latch see if the creaking noise from there first.

Issue Resolved!!!
So, I opened the trunk and there are two black visible bolts on each side of the trunk mounted taillights. One 10mm socket, small ratchet, and another half turn per bolt and problem is no more.
I wish everything in life were that easy!

Well...just like life...it really wasn't that easy.
Today is a nice warm day...opened my trunk and it's like I fixed nothing. I will have to take out the trunk liner and tighten all the bolts I guess. Fun, fun!

just do the bolded part. Car is brand new. Issues like this should not require you to take anything apart or do any temporary fixes. Best of luck and let us know how you make out

I have the same problem with mine, the dealership did have a quick look at it and put some sort of lubrication around the light, it solved the problem for a couple of days, but the creek soon came back with a vengeance, ill put up for it for a while and then will have to book it in for then to have another look.
