Default HELP with price of new GS

Hi guys, Im in michigan in the detroit area. i ordered a 2013 GS 350 with the luxury package plus blind spot monitor, HUD, lane keep assist, ML package,pre-collision. MSRP is $64,612 the dealer $612 off plus $1500 for conquest they said they never give a discount when they make a special order. is that true? im going to pick up the car tomorrow, is it true that i am not able to bargain with them because it is a special order?

You can buy for whatever they agree to and you accept. I just special ordered a new GS for $200 under invoice. They are not being honest with you.

I'd bargain another $1k or 2. why not? It doesn't hurt you. They special ordered it just for you. If you say no, then it's going to sit there. I'm sure they would want to sell it now that it's on their lot.

I could get extra 1-2K off for that car. The price that they gave you basically no discount at all. They make full retail profit on your.

It's hard to sell a fully loaded 4GS in this economy. Walk away if you can, play some game, I'll bet they call you next day or so. Next week is their month end, they don't want it on their lot and guess who they will call?

You could save extra 1-2K for waiting 1 more week. Good luck and let us know how the game going.

Your post doesn't make sense. Did you order it months ago or is the dealer trading cars with another dealer? "special order" implies you ordered it months ago.

And the more options, the more margin they have... they can definitely bargain on any car they have.

Go to another dealer, and keep going to other dealers til you find one that does what you want. Thats what i did. The dealer i bought from is 1,700 mi away.

OHHH yeah! pissed off the dealers in my area when i told them what i was offered.

If you place a special order can you decide you don't want it when it arrives? I put down a deposit and signed a vehicle buyers order. It seems it would be a lot harder to negotiate price if I already agrees to buy the car.

Walk away from it. Tell us exactly what it was equipped with. Maybe some of us have seen a similar model at a dealer.

+1 to that!

I even gave my local dealer the chance to do what was right when another dealer 5 plus hours away offered me what I wanted for the "exact" same car and option package. My local dealer still declined.

I can't wait to rub it in their face when I come in for service!

I had the opposite experience. I showed the local dealer email offers from dealers 500 miles away. The dealer here dropped his price from $750 over invoice to $200 under invoice.
