Default Turn signal arm question

I can't see the headlight settings at night, shouldn't there be a light on the arm?

I usually leave my headlights on auto and the fog lights set to "on"

I have owned many automobiles in my lifetime - Acura, Cadillac, BMW, Toyota, Porsche, Audi's, etc. - none have had illumination of the arm.

Most of the time, kept the lights on auto.
