Why AWD and not RWD 4GS
I've been asking my self this question for a while now ..
Why would anyone spend extra money for a heavier, slower and more fuel consumption GS ? when he can get a cheaper and faster RWD GS ?
Plus the AWD mods are sometimes limited !!

From my zip code in Michigan, if I do an Autotrader search for a new 2013 GS350 with RWD, I have to go to the 300 miles range to see 1 car. At the same 300 mile range, there are 226 AWD cars.

I originally went in for a RWD and the dealer told me that only 20% of the cars in Ontario are being ordered as RWD. So I drove the AWD and liked how it felt. I was persuaded
I've seen about 10 cars on the road so far (including mine). All AWD.
IMO the only drawback is the ride height. I'd prefer to be a bit lower. Otherwise I'm happy with the AWD.

The premium dealerships in this area (BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz) only stock AWD or FWD models. The market for RWD models would be very limited due to that layout's disadvantages in snow. There's a lot of armchair theory concerning RWD's usefulness in low traction situations from individuals in other areas of the country, but when push comes to shove, the people putting down the cash in my region demand AWD or FWD for their daily drivers.

Fair enough .. I live in a country where winter is 65F
Our dealership do offer AWD but u have to wait 4 months to get it as its a special order, never saw one on road ..
Now i get why awd is necessary in such weather conditions .. Sorry for the question ! Now i look silly asking such a thing lol

I would prefer the RWD personally, but here it's really a special order.

The actual drive of the GS may be better in the RWD version, but after driving performance vehicles in the past, I certainly appreciate the gripping advantage of AWD versions, and for this reason and where I live, AWD is a must.

Yeah if it was my only car I'd agree, but we have a Jeep for winter weather, and its pretty rare here anyways.
