Thinking of coming back to the fold and getting an F Sport. The lease on my G37 Coupe is up in October. I am wondering if Lexus will do some sort of update of the GS350 in the fall, like a new engine or other update? If so, I will wait till fall, as I am in no rush at the moment

Lexus doesn't do half year models. There may be some changes in 2014 but we're still a year away from that.

Most likely he means real MY13 which comes out next year.
There is small hybrid coming out next summer (in EU anyway) so most likely some internal/unvisible changes and revisions will happen. Typical for first year model to second year transition.

What is out now is the real MY 2013. The vehicle will carry on unchanged until MY 2014 that will come out late summer/early fall 2013.

I don't see it happening. The new GS350 has brought us closer to perfection for the time being. I can't think of any reason for Lexus to reinvent the recently reinvented wheel per se. I believe they'll stick with this and perhaps do some minor technical tweaks to update the difficult Enform system, but any sort of major update won't be in the cards until they determine how well sales are doing versus profit margin.
To determine how well sales are doing Worldwide, I believe it'll take some time before substantial numbers are gathered. The bean counters are working overtime right now probably.
They skipped a couple of seasons with the GS, the latest and greatest needs time to sink into the market before they go spending money on major updates. That's just my opinion, but I could be wrong.

Model designations work a bit differently in US compare to the rest of the world. You will not find 2013 model currently on the market anywhere else but in US.

The 2006 Infiniti M35/45 was introduced in March '05. I took delivery of an '06 M45 in April '05. The 2007 model wasn't introduced until September 2006.
If Lexus follows the same schedule, those of us who took delivery of the 4GS in March have the advantage of waiting almost 18 months before an updated model is introduced. Yes, there may be some bugs to be worked out in a first-year model, but it still provides the advantage of having a long window for owning the latest model. And the way Lexus refreshes their models it will probably be current for another 5 years.

The traditional Lexus cycle was 5 years. GS historically has stretched as long as 8 years for Gen 2 and almost 7 years for Gen 3. The mid cycle update probably wont happen until a few years from now. If we see any changes for 14, it maybe small items. We probably wont see anything significant until 15 or 16. Who knows, maybe GS F will come someday!
