Question re Backlight Shade - Gap at Top?
When my backlight shade is up, there is a gap visible above the center of the shade between the top rail and the headliner. The gap is just in the center half of the span. Does anyone else notice this in their rearview mirror?

I never noticed it, but now that you mention it, I see what you are talking about. Not a big deal to me.

Odd. Mine curves and is fitted. Maybe a Canadian model upgrade?
mine has it too. It's a bit bothersome but that's the way it is. I don't believe my dad's old E-class had a gap this significant though.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion that it is a design issue. The corners fit snugly, but there is a small gap in the center. No big deal, but I wondered if it was just my car. Thanks.

To make myself and hopefully everyone else here feel better I always use my rear shades when I'm at the office car park in the sun. I got in my back seat while the rear window shade was up and it's actually completely even distance from the top all the way across. It does block out any sunlight from actually getting in the car, but what we're seeing in our review mirrors is simply the suns reflection on the very top of the sunshade runner. The reason why it looks like the gap is only in the middle is due to the contour of the roofline.
We can all rest at ease...LOL

They all do that, even the older GS and other Lexus models with a rear sunshade. It's a flat shade covering up a curved window and roofline.

The good news is that today the shade went up a bit further and the size of the gap, both height and width is much smaller. Maybe it will wear in over time and the gap will disappear.

Sorry, not true in my car. The tree line behind me is visible through the gap when looking through the rearview mirror. Also, the top of the sunshade runner is flat black - no reflection.
