On my LS, I had auto-retract of the steering column disabled to preserve the failure-prone motors. However, the GS is a tighter fit and the auto-retract feature is more useful to me.

My SC400 is now 19 years old, and I have never had a problem with the auto-retract. On the SC, there is a switch on the steering column to disable that feature, but I have left it in the on position for all those years.

- windows down from remote key
- moon roof open from remote key
- adjust memory seats from any door (default is, the seats only auto-adjust if you unlock the driver door) I forgot about this one and I'll probably have to pay now.

I agree. These are the settings I'm having done this month for my 5K.

Default Unlisted custom option

I agree with the doors/sunroof open with key fob. That and the lane change blinker setting from 3 to 5 or 7 was what I went for, but he dealer could not do the latter. I finally did it myself with the DIY instructions from this forum. However when the service guy and I were trying to find this setting, I discovered an unlisted one that the dealer can do. It's a setting to turn the blinker volume to low. The settings are low, med and loud, with loud being the default. I highly recommend this change. Good luck.

Wiould you mind pointing me to the DIY instructions for #3? I don't want to pay them for it, if I can do it myself.

obadea - they'll charge you for this work? If my dealership charged me, I'd flip.

Dealers claim they will adjust personal settings one time for free, and then charge you for any additional settings. I have not asked yet, just speculating.

the option I was talking about is on Page #782 of the manual, at the bottom:

Selecting the door linking
driving position memory
with door unlock operation

Driver’s
door

All doors
