Lexus should have a different name for the 4GS: LS350s which s stand for short.
Here is my explain for LS350s: short in every dimensions.
- Shorter than LS. (make sense)
- Same motor and old tranny. The new RX F-sport even had 8 speed. Come on Lexus I knew you save something for next year models.
- Less standard equipment than LS (power trunk, power folding mirror, full speed laser cruise control, full LED package....)
- More short even less equip with outdated tech than ES. ES Lux had power trunk, panorama glass roof, backup sensor with cross traffic warning.....
Is that make sense to name the 4GS with LS350s yet?
From another angry 4GS Lux customer .
ps: That's why I saw a lot of pre-owned 4GS on eBay and dealer car lot recently and keep increasing.

the LS starts at $20k more than a GS350 for a reason.
loaded ES Ultra Lux costs as much as a base GS and still has 270 hp FWD and a non sporty ride. Panoramic sunroof has no business being on a sports car, it makes the chassis less rigid. Hence why its on the ES because its not a sporty car. Do you want sport or comfort? You have a clear choice here.

Got to drive one of the Signature/Performance versions (0-60 in 4.4 seconds) - and it was very impressive performance. Though I only get to drive at highway speeds for a couple of minutes...

I like that the 4GS looks like a cylon. It gives it a mean look and makes it stand out.
I was beginning to get bored of the older GS look. Seems like the 4GS is leaving behind the older demographic and pulling in the younger crowd with this new corporate look.

For me, how I judge a car is if it gets the fundamentals right.
Is it a driver's car?
Does it have enough useful space to be practical for my lifestyle?
Is it reliable and fuss-free to maintain?
It seems like most of what you're griping about are non-essentials that you probably won't use 90% of the time and are good only to boast about to your neighbors and colleagues, also in order to get these features in competing brands e.g German cars, you'll probably have to pay a lot more than the price of your 4GS.
Just my perspective...
