Default Is my low beam too high?

In my 3 weeks of owning 4GS, I have been flashed a few times by on coming cars during the night and that makes me wonder if my low beam is bothering others. I have driven 4 other Lexus vehicles and rarely experienced this. How do I tell if my lights are shooting too high?

U would have to find an wall and sit ur car infront of it about 15-20 feet away, then u measure the height from ur headlights to the ground. After uve done that, u go to the wall and sit ur meter stick against the wall. I think ur lights should b 2-4 inches lower then the height of ur headlights to the ground. Sorry if thats confusing, but thats only way to tell. But u got the premium package right?. .Ur headlights should b adaptive, so should auto level themselves. Maybe ask the dealer ship to check them for u just incase, wouldnt hurt.

You dont need to do all that lol. Just park your car on flat road and walk in front of your car 10-20 feet and see if it blinds you.

US Premium pkg does not include adaptive headlights. Comes with luxury pkg.

They should still be auto leveling.

That being said, auto leveling headlights do not adjust to the perfect height at startup. They adjust to the same height. You are still required to aim them. I have had to aim the HIDs on the last 4 Lexuses I or my family has owned because they were either misaligned or too low. Three of them has had adaptive headlights. All of them were self leveling.

Consult your owner's manual.

HID lights are bright. I've had the same thing happen to me and wonder if other drivers are seeing the DRL in combination with the low beam and are thinking I have my high beams on?

I would take my 3-week old car to the dealer and ask them to check it. It only takes a few minutes and they know what they are doing.

I just went in and spoke with the service manager today, he seemed to know this issue very well and assured me it's normal to GS due to higher output of the brightness. I insisted him to check the headlights anyways, and since this is my first 1,600km checkup, I will have the answer by the end of the day.

iMO,,, &$@& the other drivers. There have been countless times other drivers have damn near blinded me with their aftermarket HIDs. Especially with the older cars you can tell the driver installed the brightest HIDs they could find. And they don't have self leveling lights,,, so the light is right in your view. They have no consideration for others so,,, &$@& them!!! iMO... Your HIDs are stock from the factory. Nothing you can do.

You were flashed by other drivers? Were they wearing long trench coats?

Seriously though, the headlights float around and that might make other drivers leary. I wouldn't worry about it. They'll get used to it.
