Default 5K today

Took it in for the first checkup. I mentioned to the guy that the sport modes tend to result in harsher shifts, especially downshifts, than the normal or eco modes. He said it was because sport modes were more aggressive on the shifts. He recommended using those modes if I planned on keeping the car awhile because the transmission would last longer. More aggressive shifts means less clutch slippage. Hmm.

still think the transmission would last a long time regardless of the shifting. In my old IS, I ran in the power mode all the time. I was pretty agressive most of the time. 80K miles with no issues. Until it was totaled.(not my fault btw... loser ran a red and t-boned my car)
I drive in Sport S most of the time cause I like response in traffic and on the freeway for throttle response.

There's no clutch in these cars by the way.

Hrm, did you change your blinker fluid during your 5k service too?

Did my 5K check up the other day, too.

Had them change my oil for the second time already.

I insist on doing my own blinker fluid changes. I don't trust the dealership with this and insist on synthetic only (which is even harder to find). If you go back to the maintenance bay at the dealership and see the guys they get to do the blinker fluid checks, you'd also insist on doing it yourself. I don't see them washing their hands or gloving up--its definitely not done in a sterile manner--which we all know is absolutely critical in a successful BFC.

What synthetic oil does the dealership use for oil changes? Should I take my own? I always been a fan of Amsoil.

I'm still using my original blinker fluid. I have never changed it. What kind of symptoms should I look for when when this stuff is nearing the end of it's service life? I've heard that the blinkers will start slowing down but I have not noticed that yet.

Maybe the technicians have a latex allergy? Do they merely wash or change their gloves between cars?

Our transmissions still have clutches inside of them, just no clutch pedal.

I think they get dimmer and the sound becomes lower when your blinker fluid starts going bad.
