i see you guys are not playing with your projects. i'm giving you all two thumbs up... i have no clue as to WTH you guys are talking about. i just have to read and learn because i want a little extra bump (not much) i want it clean like stock and all JL Audio. i have the ML but IMO it's missing something. good luck fellas and keep up the good work. other people will learn (including me) from what you're doing.
You better be careful Josh you have lease and if they can tell you messed with the car it going to turn into a purchase just aFYI
My car is leased and everything I am doing can easily be reversed come turn in time. Leasing may be the only reason I haven't changed out all speakers and added amps for them......Oh and maybe I am too lazy too!!!
i find the best way to run a subwoofer in a gs is to use a Audio Control LC2i. Instead of looking for wires to tap, jus tap it to the rear subwoofer. parallel the signal into the speaker input on the lc2i then your good to go. also u dont have to find a remote wire as the lc2i has gto meaning auto sensing. then u can use the remote out to your amp.

Yes the LC2i is a good buy. It does sound great and makes for a nice strong signal to the sub amp. I still think it's best to tap the car amp and it's connections. I think it's better because you don't know where the factory sub crosses over. If it's 60Hz that is the highest your signal will go. Also, the system amp is so easy to find and you can tap any wire you want.

Looks like the GTO feature does not work on our 4th Gen GS. Went thru 3 units ... Finally tapped into the remote trigger on the amp...

i use a sven 4 before the lc2i and the lc2i puts it to shame.
I'm installing this 12 in JL sub and my guy wants to run it from the sub and use a 300W JL amp. I'm not looking for anything crazy.
$400 drive out.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
TIA
Running from sub out will cause your sub to hit weird frequencies. Buy a lc2i it will be fine. Don't use a loc cause it doesn't produce enough voltage.

Where is the stock amp located? Is it easy to get to and tap?
It's in the rear of the trunk on the right side, underneath the the tools.
Great - one last thing - I saw a post for the correct wires to tap for the ML but do you know what the correct wires are to tap for a non-ML system, including the remote wire?

Thanks
My guy wants to run from sub.
If I use the Lc2i do I have to connect to the factory amp or can I still go to sub?
