I had a 2008 IS and a 2010 HS that both muted navigation prompts while on phone, and muted radio. Shocked in my new 2013 ES300h that prompts continue to play while you are on phone, and no stereo muting. People on the other line think you are the navigation prompts and keep saying "What?"
This is ridiculous and a major disappoint for a more expensive car. Shame on Lexus.

By the way, Please submit feedback and navigation prompt complaints to 1-800-25-LEXUS (1-800-255-3987) prompt #5. it took less than 5 minutes. She said once a certain feedback threshold is met, then the will consider adding suggested changes to a firmware upgrade.

I was surprised encounter this issue yesterday. I've become accustomed to other car audio systems auto-muting during NAV guidance speech. I would prefer audio be auto-muted during guidance speech, and guidance speech be auto-muted during phone calls. Best case would be to make these configurable options.

Thanks brunla for the contact info to submit this feedback. Worth a shot.

I totally agree. My last car muted the guidance and I, too, got lost when on the phone. I am thrilled that my 2013 RX350 does NOT mute the guidance. I guess if the phone call is so important that you don't want to know how to get where you want to go, you could always pull over somewhere and just talk on the phone.

I've also seen some posts about the radio volume not lowering while voice guidance is speaking. This was also automatic on my two previous cars.

Any ideas?? It's pretty annoying to have it talk over you when you're on the phone!
I haven't had any legitimate response to this post except for the Lexus does no wrong users who says that its GREAT to have it speak over you while on the phone. Ok, c'mon people. its lame. at least give us an option so that those of us who like to hear our phone calls can do so while driving without having to yell over the nav system. or lower the volume on the nav system while you're on the phone. i have called lexus customer service 3 times on this and they said they would get back to me and never did. I don't think lexus has a great grasp on their nav system and audio electronics like other high end car manufacturers. its a shame because lexus makes such reliable smooth riding cars.

I'm not a "Lexus do no wrong" user. I just don't spend my driving time talking on the phone, and when I do I have the guidance turned down enough that it doesn't interfere with my conversation.
