This has nothing to do with the fob. The RES+ will integrated with Lexus Enform system and thus using GSM to transmit the signal.
I know it works through a gsm cellular signal but the current RES uses the key. I was wondering if we gain that functionality in addition to using the smartphone app.

When RES+ is installed, you can start the car with a phone app (over cellular or wifi network) as well as with a keyfob (just like a normal remote start)

I think it's a bit different: Enform is using your phone for internet connection, RES+ system has its own GSM modem and doesn't need extra equipment to establish connection or execute commands.
my 350 arrives this month. I was old that res+ is available for it.
Not to discredit your salesperson but I don't think that's true. He may be talking about the original RES system instead. There is still no information available for RES+ regarding the GS. I've been patiently/impatiently waiting for Lexus to release it.

You are correct. I went in to pay for it and found ou that it's not available yet
Just venting here.... After playing around with the Tesla and Hyundai app, it's pathetic how lacking the RES+ is from what I've seen on the RX forum. The Hyundai remote start allows you to lock, unlock, start the car as well as honk the horn and flash the lights bundled with many other features. Why hasn't Lexus been able to release these features to the most technologically advanced models in its lineup? Just saying....
