How did you get the shift boot to stay up like that lol. I'm hesitant on even getting an aftermarket shift knoob cuz im afraid of the boot falling down.
I just zip tied the boot from the inside of it the threaded part. Sorry I don't have pictures. It took me a few tries to get it how I wanted. It should be easy to revert back. Just take pictures of it before taking it apart for reference.

I don't think the boot can 'fall' anywhere. I tore down my GS350 before (see thread here). Here are a couple of pictures to show what I mean.
I've been using the same magnetic mount for years in all my cars. The mount is small, sturdy and has a swivel back so the angle can be adjusted. The magnet is super strong and the mount uses a 3M adhesive pad that sticks well to flat metallic/plastic surfaces. It peels off with no residue if you don't like the placement and they give you a few adhesive pads so you get more than one shot to get it right.
I have placed the mount over the right 1/3rd of the CD slot. The height is perfect and it doesn't block air vents, air controls, the clock or the 12" nav screen.
The phone can stick horizontally or vertically on this magnetic mount. I'll add a pic of my phone attached to the mount later...couldn't get a pic last night because I couldn't find my wife's phone!
Hopefully this helps someone out. The forum has already helped me figure out what model/options to look for and diagnose the sunroof rattle (ordered weatherstrip today) in my week old '14 GS RWD F-Sport.
Here are 2 pics from Oct 2018 (22 months ago) and 2 more pics from tonight. The mount is still firmly attached, no loss in adhesive or magnetic strength. And this is in hot, sunny South Florida too!

Thanks for this. Been thinking about getting when I saw a year ago. This is the best imo. No getting in the way of switches, control site blocking no vent air impediment.
I looked but then didn't follow up on which iphone case to get to go with the mount.

I just use Spigen or Caseology or similar minimalist cases. The metal plate simply slips between the phone and case, been using these types of cases/mounts since the iPhone 5s days.
I have a silicone credit card holder on the back of my iPhone which prevents me from using some phone mounts. But the credit card holder on the back of the iPhone doesn't interfere with the Logitech wireless charger I use at home.
any GS4 owners out there ever tried the mount from KUDA? part number 083735
Never seen this one. Thats nice. I wonder if the cup holder door will still open? I also looked and seems its out of stock everywhere I looked. Did you order one?

A guy in Poland has 10 new KUDA 083735 Black Leather console phone mounts for sale on eBay (link below) @ $47.51 USD plus ~$13.07 shipping.
I don't remember exactly, but you can get it from a lot of places. My mount had the original fabric removed, bit of bondo and molding, and then was rewrapped in new fabric and custom stitching to match the car's.
