it takes several weeks for fresh paint to fully dry on your car. i would wait at least 1 week or more before i wash it... and do not send it through a car grinder (car wash), hand wash it yourself. i wouldn't put any chemicals on the car i.e. QD, wax etc. for at least 30 days. was the whole car painted or just a bumper, door etc? whatever piece was painted don't put any chemicals on it, just hand wash and work around it with the chemicals.

if you feel you have to wash it (i know how you feel) use a gentle car shampoo and dry it. don't put any QD or wax on the hood.

Not disagreeing, but I've usually waxed my cars within a week of bringing them home (and that's been quite a few over the past years) and have never had any paint issues. They have all looked great. I do primarily hand wash.

Maybe I will suffer through a dirty black car for a week then just do a regular wash and do my quick detailer spray on all but what was painted -- i could live with that I think...

if you don't want to wait a week, wash it with a mild car soap. i can't stand dirty cars either. take advantage of this nice weather.

We don't get much rain in southern Arizona, and I keep my GS garaged. I just washed it for the first time. I have had it for five months!
