I was in the same position as you are now. I was totally sold by the F-Sport's exterior (and the badge ) but the minute I sat down in the car, I didn't like the metalic look trims. I tried to like it but couldn't. To me it looks too plastic but some other will throw rocks at me for saying that. Although I really love the F-Sport, I chose luxury because I know I spend more time inside the car. Except the front grille (I don't know how hard to change out) the rest should be replaced fairly easily. IMO, I don't like modding the interiors. It's harder to meet your expectation because you can see more details. Ask the dealer to let you have the car for a day to see how you like one vs. the other.

The Luxury model's passenger side dashboard wood trim piece alone costs about as much as the F Sport front bumper cover, upper grille, lower grille, and rear valance combined.
Good info. Never would have guessed that.

Everything is the same, except for brakes and suspension. The luxury model has the same engine, eco, normal and s/s+ modes.

IMO, get the lux package and swap out front facia and add the rear spoiler. If you get everything painted at the dealer you should have no problems with paint match.
There's also the Adaptive Front Lighting System, which is incredibly useful at night, IMO. Each headlight is around $1,200 a piece.
