Lexus GS 350 Luxury Package now includes LED headlights?

Even the Prius have LED headlight options, also the Nissan Leaf. Way overpriced for Lexus LED headlight. Most of the new Audi, BMW, Benz, Nissan, Lincoln, Ford, Kia, Hyundai already have full LED turn signals: Lexus don't.
80% light bulbs in my house are LED and it amazingly bright and energy conserve. LED technology already mature enough to gain popularity and price is cheap but automobile makers still want us to pay a fortune for it.

Well another member mentioned it was like 3k for just one sounds pretty ridiculous. I wonder how much a group buy would lower the price buy that is if it is even available.

back in the ls600hl days, led was no match to hid. it couldn't light up the road as good as hid, period. plenty of ls460 then ls600hl owners commented. but it's been few years and i think led technology has matured more. the fact that we see more cars with led headlights now to me means it probably performs very close now.
but it's still going to be very expensive to upgrade. and for those who are interested, good luck in getting it to work. unless things have changed, it won't be plug and play. harness probably quite different (at least for LS it was a major project). it would be a fun project though

researched on ehow.com, and xenon is a better choice as opposed to led. it projects a much brighter light and the aiming of xenon is critical as opposed to led where the aiming is not as critical. however the led is more durable and doesn't break as easy as the xenon. overall the xenon is much better.

I think LED will eventually be better than HID. What I do not understand is the move Lexus is making away from BI-Xenon. The 2013 ES, RX no longer offer Bi-Xenon, just HID for low beams only. I wonder if it a cost saving move to avoid the shutter mechanism that directs the Xenon light from dipped to full beam??? My 2010 IS has Bi-Xenon and a supplemental halogen high beam and I love them. I know the 2013 GS has Bi-Xenon as standard. It is my hope that the 2014 IS will offer Bi-Xenon and if not that will be a shame.
