Hey signdetres, I see you live in California. Have you gotten pulled over for not having a license plate in front of your car? I was planning to take mine off too but afraid to get pulled over.

I live in the bay and never have my plates on all my cars I’ve owned.

I always recommend 2 bucket method, 2 wash mitts, and proper soap. I like using a combo of ONR and Carpro Reset. Then dry using the sheeting method and cleaning up excess spots as needed. Drying agent/sealant always adds better protection.
Personally I polish and ceramic coat my vehicles. I like using Cquartz. Clay mitt the car twice a year. Having access to the right equipment helps obviously.
My washes typically take no more than an hour and a half when it is really dirty. Kept my 07 IS black paint nearly perfect and keeps my GS looking on point. Everyone has their own preferences and methods of course.

I’ve never ever had an issue not having a front plate here on the GS and cars before it.

Front license plate laws are kind of like window tint laws around here... you’re not supposed to do it but if you do, no one really cares lol. YMMV of course though.

Yup, I actually use a separate third bucket for the lowest parts of the body, wheel wells and wheels. I use one mitt for the wheels, one for the low parts of the body and one for the cleaner upper body. I add ONR to the soap and I spray with water, foam gun, rinse, then spray with an ONR quick detailer mix and then touch the paint with the sponge. For drying I just use an application H20 Guard and Gloss. That will keep it swirl and mar free. Takes about 2 hours but at least its sealed and protected in the process.

You're going to miss that car when it's gone, signdetres.

The closer I get to my lease ending, the more I find myself falling for this car It's really gonna suck when it's gone and there's no new GS to replace it with. I don't have the slightest clue what to replace it with. This is such a great car in so many ways (( Ugh

Last night enjoying some late-night rain:
