I have the Responder One Button Remote start. Its ok the ranger is eh. It's better then my old one on the ES which only worked when I was at the front door of my house...
It's a two way system which is nice, so that I get a confirmation that my car started or didn't. If doing it again now knowing the "limitations of the system/range I would have looked more into the smart start especially if this cold weather stays this way

But like the lexus system, it also shuts down the engine when I open the door. (I was told this is normal for an aftermarket system for a newer lexus) Also at night, if the auto-lights are on they don't turn on which is kinda annoying. Is turning off and then on all the time "good" for the engine. The turning off the engine, doesn't sound annoying but it is. Also as a tip turn off S-Flow as it will turn the ac/heat for the whole car and not just the driver side

 

Thanks puck. Didn't even think about the auto-lights, and thanks for the S-flow tip. I'm leaning towards just having Lexus install the OEM res. I can see my car from my office window and that would generally be where I'm using it, so hopefully the crappy range won't be an issue. I will ask if the dealer will install the viper smartstart, if they will, might do that. Sucks that the aftermarket remote start also requires the engine to be turned back on. Either way, I'm leaning towards having Lexus do the install so if something goes wrong with the keyless entry/start system or res I can drop it at their door and say its their problem.

What I love about this one is it can get up to 2,000 ft. Just as good as the Viper system.
I would love to put a body kit on it, but not sure where to find one at. I don't have the F package.
Would love to put sub and Amp. But scared I may mess up the system.
