I believe that all Fsports have Dunlops. I have the premium pkg on mine. When I had them swap rims/tires the car I swapped with was the only one on the lot with Michelins. I am not sure if Lexus switched to them or had a certain run with Michelins.

Mine has the Michelins and its very quiet at all speeds.
The Michelins are a huge improvement over the Dunlops or Bridgestones. Tires for this car are so expensive its something youve got to make sure of before the deal is done IMHO.

Does anyone know the rhyme or reason for the Michelin tires? Like I posted before, I had them swap a rim/tire set with the only car on the lot with Michelins. It is night and day difference. I have the premium pkg and the car I swapped with had the premium pkg.

Its totally luck of the draw. Its that way on all Lexus models. No rhyme or reason.

I doubt its that, I think they just maintain relationships with several different vendors to keep costs down.
Not all manufacturers do that though, most all use one model of tire.
But, everyone should INSIST on the Michelins. It really makes a huge difference, and these tires are too expensive ($300 a piece) to just run out and replace new tires because they're loud and dont ride well.

When I recently purchased RX350-2013 for my wife was told by Sales Mgr....if the veh comes out of Cambridge Canada --will have Michelins , out of Japan --comes with Dunlop. These are the 2 plants where the RX is built. Not sure if that is reality but doesn't come into play for GS. I too always insist on Michelins, veh came out of Cabbridge so was good to go !

But even on the ES and GS where they're all built at the same plants they come out with the different brand tires...

Yes , i agree with that. Point i was making on the Rx ( not luck of draw) it will be based on where it was manufactured. No biggie just trying to provide info from Lexus Dealer.

I wonder if that's even true though, dealers say all kinds of crazy stuff lol

My '06 GS came with Dunlop run-flats which were OK (got over 30k miles with no problems), but when it came time to replace and I saw the price for RFTs, I decided to go for top end conventional tires, getting 4 Michelins (Pilot MXV4, I think)...IT WAS LIKE GETTING A NEW CAR!
I was really hoping for Michelin tires when I ordered the '13 GS, and was very happy to see them when the car arrived.
BTW, I was seriously considering the BMW 5 series, but when I saw that they were married to RFTs, that was a deal-breaker for me. That's a shame because it was otherwise a very solid contender, especially the safety technology.

Yeah my ES came with Bridgestones, and I replaced them with Michelin Primacy MXV4s after about 10k miles which revolutionized the car. Those tires were $150 a piece thought...easier to swallow $600 to improve the ride and feel than $1,200.

Same here. I don't find the Dunlops objectionable, but I will replace them with Michelins when the time is right. And, no, I don't think the F Sports typically come with Michelin tires.
