Thank you! Work hard, save hard and play a little haha. We’ve been together since Freshman year of high school and skipped the whole “party phase” together. We started our first ecommerce business at 18 and sold it by 21. I also started interning in Commercials Real Estate at 17 and worked my way up the ladder to now being an investor/redeveloper/asset manager. My fiancée is a freelance web designer and just graduated and landed a role at a major publication company. The Lexus was partially my gift to her and partially her gift to herself for that.

Bought 2001 GS430 in 2004 at age 27.
Sold it in 2017 at age 41.

I drove that one car in all three popular age groups.

54 and recently purchased an off-lease 2015. Atomic silver with Luxury Package, BSM and Mark Levinson.

Previously owned 93, 94 & 99 LS400's. Some others have been 68 RS Camaro, 71 Chevelle SS, 92 Stealth TT and 96 Mystic Cobra. Last 7 years have been driving a 1999 E55. Came back to Lexus because my Teutonic baby was spending as much time being serviced as driven, though she has been my favorite.

The GS has been an adjustment, but there is much to appreciate about it.

'13 AWD Luxury Liquid Platinum, stock except for 35% tint all around (except windshield). I'm 49, but bought this 3 years ago. I got the GS because I like a little understated elegance. I don't want to turn heads, but when they're looking my way, I want them to like what they see. Also, there are like a million Audis and BMWs around here, but very few GSs—so I stand out a little. I love the German cars, but don't have time to deal with the repair hassles. I have friends who are very frustrated. I've never regretted my decision.

I'm with you guys. I'm 48 and got the GS 3 months ago. Prior car was an 04 E55. That car was a rush! Speed and comfort for 4 all in 1 package. But it was starting to show its age. I'd been pretty lucky as I never got stranded like some 55 guys but it had some major services due or coming due. And the electronic gremlins were starting to drive me crazy. I miss the speed a little but this car is so much more comfortable. Its nice having up to date electronics and reliability too.
I envy you young guys being able to buy a car like this. I was too busy goofing off in my 20s. So props to you!

Wow, nice power improvement. Anyone tried this?

How is the reliability of a Lexus that has a mod like this?

Hmmm... I don't know that my wife would approve of putting a blower on the Lexus. Oh well, they don't have one for the '18 yet so I've got maybe another year of marital bliss.

Bought my 2013 Lexus GS 450h when I was 28, now 1.5 years later.

I drove this bag of rice before the Lexus:

I'm sure lots of members on this board have gone through their phases of rice. Maybe we should start a "Let's see your pre-Lexus Bag-of-Rice" thread... heh heh.
