I have done about 30 miles on the tank when it was 0 cruising range. Most of my cars have some room to spare when their cruising range goes to 0 however its not good to keep doing that. I have to admit that is till drive the car to squeeze more miles out of my tank when the range becomes zero but never beyond 20 miles past.

If you put larger wheels on your car, won't your mpg calculations be off? For every revolution of the wheels, you're traveling farther than you did before. How does that work? Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

I mean in the sense that I wont be flying around.. I would have to take it easy not to damage the wheels.

Most people do not add larger diameter tires, just larger diamer wheels keeping the same tire height (as close as possible) with smaller sidewalls

I'm trading in my Camry Hybrid for a GS, and have to admit, the loss of range will be painful. I can go >500 miles on a single tank, and that means a lot because my commute is almost exactly 500 miles per week.

I think part of the reason for the big difference in mpg, is that a lot of owners are moving up to 20" rims to get a nice looking profile. That's going to throw off their speedometer, odometer and mpg. They're actually getting better mpg and they have more miles on their car than the odometer says. They're also driving faster than the speedo says.
