have you tested it out yet and tried to drive when you had "0 miles" left?
Really you've never tried it?? I rarely fill up before the range goes to 0. On the freeway and no traffic you can easily go 40 miles (probably even more) after the range shows 0, and around 20 in normal city traffic. Of course mine is the hybrid, but it was similar with the 02 GS430 I previously had (it had a 20 gallon tank though).

Has anyone been able to get better gas mileage than that? Has anyone noticed a change in average MPG as the car got more miles on the odometer? Mine is brand new and only has 780 miles so far so I figured the mpg might change as the car gets broken in a bit.

I remember when I first bought my F150 in 2001, brand new, it only got about 260 miles per tank, but after about 2 years of owning it, it was getting around 320 per tank.
I have a 2013 GS f sport with 8,000 miles and I am getting a little bit over 15 miles per gallon, but this has now become a big car and is bigger than the earlier GS and about the same size as the LX, a few years back. SP

I just came back from a trip to Orlando and Tampa from Miami. I averaged about 27 mpg in normal mode on the highway, with cruise control set between 80 - 85 mph most of the time. It was about a 4 hour drive give or take.

Still getting around 20-21 in town. But I drive it pretty briskly off and on too. Hard not to.

That sounds really low. I consistently get 20 mpg in city/highway combo driving but then I rarely have it set to Sport. I go Economy occasionally but usually Normal.

It's normal for those of us with a lead foot. :P I usually hover between 16.5 to 18.5 mpg.

Default 28 mpg or Better is Possible

Every couple of weeks I drop my son back at his school late Sunday night. I then drive back home taking a toll highway during it's off-hours (407). The trip on the 407 section is about 50 to 60 km and their are only few cars on the road and inevitably one or two of them are OPP cruisers. So I dial in 121 or 122 kph (75 mph) and let the car go. I do get gas consumption of 9.5 liters/100 km (25 mph) for this trip. So I can see the car easily getting 7.1 l/100 km the Lexus.ca site claims, which is about 33 mpg, if the trip was 150 km long (100 mi).

Trouble is, it is almost impossible to get these open highway situations, where the cruise allows to car to show it's green side.

I just took delivery of a new 2014 IS 350 f sport and I am getting a little less than 16 mpg. However, most of my driving is in the city and I drive it hard. I had a 2013 Lexus GS f sport and at about 10,000 miles , I was getting about 15.5 mpg. I am sure that if I took a trip, I might get 20 mpg on the average. sportpop

You guys must do only city/neighborhood driving. Since purchase i'm getting 22.3 mpg with almost 5500 miles and i have had the car for a little over 3 months. I do about 60 miles each day going to work and back and while its mostly hwy miles depending on traffic it can be a lot of stop and go.

When I drive exclusively in Sports+ mode and aggressively I get about 20.0-20.9 mpg. Driving for a full tank in Eco mode I've gotten as high as 23.6 mpg.
