Second hard part is putting the mirror back on. You have to make sure everything aligns perfectly, and that nothing is loose. Ensure that the puddle light clips on its spot properly (else you will have rattles problems later on)

Good luck!
I just stuck my had in behind the mirror and pulled on it hard to the point you think your going to break it, then it popped off, no damage. abound 1 minute on each side to take the mirror off and disconnect the wires. I would not do that in the winter because plastic would be more brittle.

Just replaced my puddle lights, lots of good info here. My mirrors were easy to pop off with some plastic trim tools. My only issue was getting the housing to line up perfect on the passenger side. I figured out it was due to the housing moving up a bit in the fixed cylindrical part in the door. Once I got that out of the way it was done. Now I just want it to be night time so I can appreciate the brighter lights. I decided to stick with ambers.

Just finished mines! I will takes pics tonight! I used Lasfit 192 bulb! I use Lasfit led bulbs for everything! I have them in my turn signals front and back with no hyper flash! Very bright! Also I used a flat head to push back the upper black tabs.... using my finger to push up against was difficult for me... To be honest this process was nerve wrecking when I started with the first mirror! 😂😂😂 2nd mirror was cake!

Afterward, I realized that the outer casing of my mirror was not exactly perfect so I had to live with however flush it fits with the inner part (since its plastic, it may have been bent slightly from all the times the mirror was folded-in).
Is it the side that isn't flush for you? For me the top is flush but I couldn't get the side flush with the black trim and it's annoying me lol I don't want to get water in the housing.

It's the opposite for me...the side is flush but the top doesn't seem to want to squeeze and hold together. It's still not 100% perfect but I haven't had any issues with it over the years.

I just checked on the IS forums and someone else had the same issue. It’s because the puddle lights aren’t in exactly how they should be so I’ll probably give it another shot soon since I’m getting my mirrors wrapped
