Make them give you money towards a detailer of your choice.

as said by a few, do not let them buff it out.

while they will probably buff out the scratch, they will then add the following to your car.

"DO NOT", let them touch your car. what they will do is polish it... mind you they will not get the scratches out but just cover what they can, and in turn will cause more damage. they will probably leave buffer swirls, holograms, etc... have them pay for a professional detail.

That must be painful to see the damage. I hope you'll get her fixed by professionals. I was getting gas yesterday and so excited to see another GS... The sad part was she was being taken into the wash machine... That was the second 4GS that I saw at this same gas station going through the wash. The worse part was my wife saying it looked like a Camry again Maybe she will change her view when she sees a black 4GS.

She needs to see an F-Sport I think that wil change her perception.

So I'm going to get them to give me the money towards a detailer that I know in my area that does was recommended by a friend. Hope they fix it, I'm so mad with the fact they let this occur.

Bummer! I was considering taking my car to a place to "knock the sand off" but I will wait for a warmer day and get the hose and bucket out. Good luck getting the scratches out!

And give it a couple of coats of Wolf's Hard Body to "winterize" it from the salt and sand. It will be much easier to clean that way. The stuff is amazing. The water beads like nobody's business and runs right off, so that leads me to believe the other elements will too. Mine actually had ice on the hood and I wiped it off with a microfiber towel. There were no scratches.

Sorry to hear about that...I hope your detailer of choice gets it all out and perfect again. What a bummer. I have been going to same car wash for last 7 years with no problems, then after first weekend road trip with my new 4GS, I took over there to get road bugs washed off, and they scratched my brand new tint on right front door glass. I got off easy though from what it sounds like they did to yours.

So just an update I'm supposed to meet with the regional boss for the company this Saturday, I have a feeling he is gonna try to have them do it themselves. He kept saying that the manager at that branch said it was hard to see the scratches, I said ok they are still scratches so he said he would like to meet Saturday so I will keep you all posted.

So here is the update, the car wash company offered to pay for the detail to be done by the professional of my choosing, so I have scheduled an appointment for the car week after next as they are booked. Thanks all will post pics when he finishes it.
