Same here.

 

Mine matches fine.

 

My steering wheel and the small pieces on the doors look black with no graining. They do not have the linear striping like the console. In terms of color they match. As to wood grain they do not.

Which pieces on the doors do you mean? Making sure you know the trim around the window switches is piano black, not wood.

 

I went by the dealership today and I found out what you said. I was talking about the area around the switches and yes, they are indeed piano black. I also found that the steering wheel looks black if it is shaded at all. In bright sunlight or with other illumination, I could see the wood grain. Checked mine at home and same thing. It does not have striping like the console but definitely wood grain and the color is a good match. I'm happy with it!

Steve, that's my point. My wood grain in the wheel is not linear-grained. It has a grain (very slight one), and it's closer to the walnut-looking grain my wife's RX has.

It sounds like I need to raise this next time I go to the dealership.

 

I have an 2010 LS and notice the wood on the door, steering wheel, and shift know do NOT match. Three different colors. Is this a warranty item? I bought it CPO November 2012. I didn't notice the wheel color vs. the other interior trim until I read this thread and looked. The shift **** doesn't bother me as I am looking to replace it.

 

I took a pic of my steering wheel and the linear espresso wood...looks like they had different grain pattern.

I wonder if its because the wheel is a 3 dimensional shape while the dash and door trim is a flat shape?

Man, I thought I was detail oriented. I never paid enough attention to notice if the two are matched and how well. As long as they are in the same shade and relatively similar patterns, I'm happy. I guess I'm easy to please
Driving the new ES loaner today. Everything is there but it's no where near the GS, the exterior/interior designs, the dash, seats, sound system, material, display, back up camera, gear shifter... The ride is not bad though.

ES? Get around town ok, or

I had the same motor in my 2010 ES, power is absolutely fine. 0-60 in like 6.5 seconds...

 

I'm no expert, but I feel that the GS is more planted especially when it comes to a stop. May be due to the extra weight and/or better center of gravity. Acceleration is fine for the car and the ride is not much different from my GS. I want to say that the GS suspension/brake system is more responsive/sensitive (in a positive way). The ES has 3.5K and mine has close to 5K. The main reason I bought this car over other brands and F Sport was the interior. IMO, ES looks really cheap. Sorry if I offended some ES owners that might wander off here. On the other hand, I think it is informative for those who are deciding between ES and GS. IMO, GS interior is gorgeous even when the trims are not perfectly matched.

 

The GS is more solid riding, no question there.

Interiorwise, don't get me started on the 2013's interior...on the whole I'm very happy I upgraded to the GS.
