I had the M37 prior to the GS. I lost the M37 during hurricance Sandy.

having driven both cars, its a tough call. But I can definitely the GS feel faster, and sounds better. The GS has more mid range punch, where as the M might be a little quicker off the line

The title of the thread should have been "Which is the better looking car". Or "which car has been more well-received". Then we would know the answer.

Having test driven both cars, the GS350 handles better, & corners quicker, IMO. Might not be the fastest on a straight, but it's one of the better ones on hard corners.

Lol I agree I haven't seen anything for the M37 not like the M35 when it came out.

I LOVE my GS450h -- but the idea of regular tires, using regular gas, and getting 40 mph with the new ES350h is very very tempting.....

They're both much slower than a similarly-priced Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 or Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

I have fond memories of this car. I had an '08 M35 Sport in black. It drove fantastic but had a lot more road noise than the 4GS. Still a great car, and I still like the looks better than the current one, but the 4GS is a definite step up.

Yes, but this is a totally different class. If I wanted to look at the hard plastic interior in the Camaro or the shiny plastic chrome in the Mustang just for more speed I would have gone that route. A Miata for $30k less handles better than the 4GS, but I have no plans to trade.
