Got damage to some of the side panels any ideas on how to get a decent paint job ? I would hate to just do the normal paint mix ? any suggestions or am I out of luck ?

Sorry to hear. Post pics of the damage so we can see. From what I've seen at dealerships near me their guys do a pretty good job. You can always check with one near you.

I will post pics tonight, but a industrial size dumpster got pushed by strong wind and slammed into my parked GS...bent the panel above the rear wheel on the driver side with scratches thru the paint. Nothing like a car accident but nevertheless...

Hope the damage isn't bad.

that ....hurts.
If the paint not crack then paintless dent remove can push it back and experience detailers can work their magic on the paint.
The liquid platinum are really hard to match.

To my knowledge, All body shops order/mix their paints and get supplied from a specific paint manufacture. Lexus doesn't sell paint directly to the body shop. Their paint rates would be so high they'd never be able to make any money if they bought paint from Lexus. Still, there are different qualities of aftermarket paint. My advice would be to ask around and find the most reputable shop in your area and find out what type of warranty they offer. I haven't seen your car, but with the damage on the panel you describe just over over the rear tire, it's possible that they may have to blend the paint into your rear door to assure a proper paint match.

Simply not true. Sewell Lexus of Dallas had a hard time getting Liquid Platinum in stock initially because it was a new color for them. Now they have it and keep it in stock to repair GS350's with Liquid Platinum.

That sucks!
I was also told by a body shop I know and trust that for some reason it was hard to get ahold of the LP paint...
I wouldn't automatically assume a dealer will do the best job, I would shop around, get reviews...

We (Collision Repair Center) had the formula for Liquid Platinum shortly after the '13 GS was on our lot for sale. We likely didn't have small touch up paint available in our parts department for sale to customers though. The touch up paint they have for sale to owners is prepackaged from a different source.
If you or any Club Lexus member would like a tour of our shop, I'd be happy to show you our facility. Give me a call or send me an e-mail and we can make arrangements. Hopefully, none of you ever need our services! If you do, we are there to restore your Lexus back to it's pre-accident condition.

Yep, great info.
That makes sense then what the guy at my dealer's shop was saying, he said he did not have that paint yet he must have meant small batches.
