Opinions on Lease Deal?
Hi Guys,
New here but have been reading up. Fell in love with the GS 350 F Sport...would be my first Lexus. I was hoping you guys could offer opinions on a lease deal I just negotiated but have not signed yet. I think I did a pretty good job but would love opinions:
New GS 350 F Sport MSRP 56,888
Sale price: $49,688 (not including taxes etc...out the door, $53,708)
36 Month Lease @ 18K miles/year (totally need the miles)
MF: .00145
Residual: 57% of MSRP
$1500 down would be around $760/month
This would be my first lease ever but I have researched and I think I have everything covered with the above. What do you guys think?

being that they charge .25 a mile penalty over allotted miles you could look at it like you are paying a little under 600 a month for a 10k per year lease and pre paying the additional 8k miles a year. I think it seems like a decent deal

Hi Guys,
I think I miscalculated the monthly payment. Should be less than $700. What am I missing on the negotiation? The sale price seems pretty good and the residual seems ok...

How did you get such a deal? According to Truecar, the invoice on such a MSRP is about 53k, how the hell can they give you more than 3k below invoice?
Also last month when I called, they told me 15k/yr residual's 56%, how are you getting 57%? Or did they give me wrong info? On the site in your post, i assume the residual is on 10k/yr... Maybe on 18k/yr it's closer to 52%?
Also given the info you have provided, the monthly payment should be below $600 (excluding taxes), even assuming a 1000 total documentation and acquisition fee...
Not sure where your 760/m is coming from.
What's the taxes in your state? Lease taxes are generally tapped on top of each payment... or does your state require paying the full tax at time of initiation? If taxes need to be paid at the start, and residual's lowered, then the numbers can get closer to even more than 760.
Regardless, are they really offering 3k+ below invoice?

You can see the attached. I snapped a pic of the purchase deal I negotiated before I decided leasing may be an option. This has the purchase price at $49,888 which I later got another $200 off. Taxes in GA just changed this year so that whether it is lease or purchase, you pay 6.5% of the market value (usually a bit lower than MSRP) when you lease or purchase. So in this case, the 6.5% would be added into the total price of the car. In regards to the 57% residual, that is what I was quoted yesterday over the phone when I discussed the lease. Today, I am going back in to review everything. I think I just wrote the wrong monthly payment in the original post but I still think he said somewhere around $700 when I believe it should be at most, low $600's.

Thanks guys. Now I know I at least have another few hundred to work with. Although, that may be a contributing factor as to why I could get the price to where I got it.

What's the 2k rebate? Is that for current Lexus owners?
If I just enter GS 350 F sport in True car, add Nav and another option to get to 56,8xx, the Invoice is shown to be 53,5xx... So even withou the rebate you are getting significantly below invoice, so makes sense for them to charge a doc fee to somehow make some money or at least not lose money... I mean either price or fee has to move right?
Usually there's some acquisition fee with lease that's not there with a buy as well.
For those saying doc fee should be 40, is that something your negotiate for or is that standard with your dealer or State? I may be a crappy negotiator and really need to learn and get better, at least in the states where I have shopped for car and asked for numbers (NC, SC, GA), I have never had any dealer budge on their doc fee and 5xx is the norm... I may be getting ripped off each time I guess...
GA tax is pretty damn brutal tho... 6.5%!
